Overview
This course teaches you what you need to
know to take the A+ Certification Exam.
This exam is the industry standard for evaluating
competency in entry-level PC service. Begin
with the ‘guts’ of the PC: components,
motherboard, chips, memory and power supplies.
Next, learn about the hard drive, hard disks,
floppy drives and files. You’ll also
learn to troubleshoot printers, modems,
monitors, keyboards, sound boards, CD-ROM
drives and other peripherals.
All textbooks and study materials are included
with your tuition. |
Businesses, government agencies, educational
institutions and of course people in homes
everywhere rely on PC technicians to keep
hardware and software running smoothly.
Servicing PCs is often as simple as running
diagnostic tests, loading and upgrading
software, replacing plug-in parts and
doing easy mechanical procedures with
hand tools.
The U.S. Dept. of Labor forecasts rising
demand and excellent earnings for computer
repairers and technicians through 2012.
As technology advances, software and hardware
upgrades are needed regularly. Job prospects
will be best for those who are up-to-date
with the latest skills and technologies.
Those who are certified will have the
competitive edge.
