Overview
If a career spent making the difference in young people’s lives sounds rewarding to you, Ashworth College’s Teacher Assisting program can help you make this your new career. Within this course, you can learn more about the physical, mental and moral developments in infants, toddlers and preschoolers; speech development; how to manage children with disabilities and behavior disorders; age-appropriate learning activities; motivation; discipline; and classroom organization. You can also develop the skills to plan and schedule lessons, relate to other teachers and parents, promote health and safety, and more.
Many of today’s schools are increasingly aware of the importance of smaller class sizes, remedial help, one-on-one attention and more intensive childhood instruction. That means teacher assistants are more important than ever in classrooms all across the country.
